RC Boat Manufacturing Project
Design and fabrication of a catamaran-inspired RC boat using advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Competed in the MSFEA speedboat competition as team The Flying Dutchmen, securing 3rd place in speed racing out of 12 teams by applying iterative design and manufacturing techniques to optimize hull performance.

- Designed and fabricated a catamaran-inspired boat for enhanced buoyancy and performance compared to traditional monohull designs.
- Performed material selection and structural optimizations, replacing steel with aluminum and Plexiglas with MDF for reduced weight while maintaining durability.
- Utilized advanced manufacturing techniques including 3D printing, TIG welding, laser cutting, and adhesive bonding for component fabrication.
- Integrated control systems with LEDs, gyroscope sensors, and motorized rudders, resolving power supply and duty cycle issues for precise movement control.
- Conducted iterative testing and modifications to improve buoyancy, minimize friction, and ensure water resistance of all critical components.
